Library Card Sign-up Month is Underway

Did you know that if you check out three books each month at the library instead of purchasing them, you’ve saved about $50?  Borrow four DVDs and you’ve saved another $50. And if you use the library’s Ancestry.com genealogy database or check out magazines, you’ve saved yourself hefty annual subscription fees.   Those are just a few of the reasons why your library card might be the most valuable card in your wallet!
September is National Library Card Sign-up Month and the McPherson Public Library is encouraging everyone who doesn’t have one already to sign up for a library card.  If you are getting your first library card at the McPherson Public Library, your name will be placed in a drawing to win a $25 gift certificate to The Bookshelf.
If you already have a card, stop by the service desk at the library and fill out a word balloon explaining how you use your library card.  Creativity is encouraged!  All who submit a word balloon also will be entered in the drawing.  The winning name will be drawn on October 1st.
For questions or additional information, call the library at 245-2570 or email them at library@macpl.org.
