Basement Genealogy is back with a new program on July 7
Do you have flat ancestors? (In genealogy, a “flat ancestor” is someone about whom all you know is basic data such as birth, death, and marriage dates and places.)
In the latest in our Basement Genealogy series, Reading the Newspapers, July 7 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Steve Read will be in his basement discussing how to locate and use digital newspapers to give those flat ancestors some dimension. He will also discuss ways that digital newspapers can aid in your research. Both free and paid resources will be covered.
“When it comes to genealogy research, newspapers are solid gold,” Read said. “But locating them and successfully extracting information from them is frequently difficult.”
