Library closing due to coronavirus emergency
The McPherson Public Library will close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 and remain closed indefinitely until it is deemed safe to reopen. Library staff will be available to assist patrons via the telephone (620-245-2570) from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday. The public may also contact the library via email seven days a week at library@macpl.org.
In making the announcement, Library Director Steve Read said, “Our number one priority is protecting the health of the library staff and the public, and the most effective way to achieve that at this time is to close the library.”
Book returns are available at each entrance for patrons who wish to return materials while the library is closed. The library will not assess fines on any materials that are checked out.
Patrons are encouraged to visit the library website and explore digital downloads of eBooks and eAudiobooks, as well as their new streaming video service. Those may be found under the Resources menu at www.macpl.org. Their free Wi-Fi service will continue to operate and can still be accessed from parking spaces along the perimeter of the building.
