The latest addition to the library’s McPherson Room is KS 1, a Kansas landscape in oil by Lawrence artist Aaron Morgan Brown. The painting is a gift in memory of Shirley Unruh (1928-2018), who was a local genealogist and spent many hours in the McPherson Room, not only working on her own family tree but volunteering to assist many others with their family history research.

Aaron Morgan Brown is a nationally-recognized artist who has shown works across the country, including in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C.
