New ReadStreet service delivers books to your doorstep
As a way to safely provide books and other library materials to the community during the time the library is closed, the McPherson Public Library is introducing ReadStreet. This service is a partnership between the library and Midway Motors and is designed to deliver library books, audiobooks, DVDs and music CDs to the homes of community members.
ReadStreet is available to any adult or teen McPherson Public Library cardholder residing within the city limits of McPherson. Patrons select items from the library’s online catalog and are notified about a delivery time. The delivery is contactless, with library staff leaving the items in a bag on the front porch and ringing the doorbell. All items loaned out via ReadStreet will have been quarantined before they are delivered.

“With some restrictions being eased but the conditions still not favorable to opening up the library, we wanted to do something to get library materials into the hands of our patrons,” commented Library Director Steve Read. “This is like a combination of Amazon and pizza delivery.”
The library wishes to thank Midway Motors for providing a transport vehicle, making home delivery of materials possible.
