Summer’s Here!
Readers of all ages will have a chance to participate in the Summer Library Program based off of the theme “Tales and Tails.” Patrons can sign up for the program, which is powered by a virtual platform called Beanstack, by visiting the library website, www.macpl.org/summer.
The Summer Library Program is a long-standing tradition at the public library and helps both youth and adults keep reading and literacy in the forefront during the busy summer months. The Beanstack platform provides a way for the program to move towards both accessibility and sustainability.
Participants can track their reading and activities, write book reviews, and keep up with friends who are also participating. Activities and virtual badges are centered on exciting concepts that inspire a love for literature, animals, and the environments where animals live. Points can be earned for virtual badges and tickets for prize drawings. In addition to a user-friendly website where patrons can log their reading and activities, Beanstack also offers an app.
Both the youth and the adult Summer Library Program will run from June 1 to July 31. For more information, please visit www.macpl.org/summer, or call the library at 245-2570.
