Special Screening of Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum
On Saturday, November 2 at 10:00 a.m. the McPherson Public Library will offer the public a chance to preview a new PBS Kids show Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum. The show is based on the children’s book series Ordinary People Changed the World by New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer and illustrator Christopher Eliopoulos and premieres on KPTS, Channel 8 on Monday, November 11 at 8:00 a.m.
Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum follows Xavier Riddle, his sister Yadina and their friend Brad as the three face problems and must turn to the Secret Museum for help to solve them. The Secret Museum allows the three friends to travel back in time to meet real-life historical figures when they were kids.
“We are excited that KPTS is once again allowing us to share a brand-new program with our families,” said Jennifer McCulley, Youth Services Coordinator. “This book series is as educational as it is engaging and kids are going to love seeing it on the big screen. An added benefit is that the storylines combine lessons on historical figures with various social-emotional concepts and character traits such as bravery and resilience.”
The McPherson Public Library will be showing the first five episodes and attendees will also have the chance to participate in an activity, as well.
